Many entrepreneurs recognize the potential of Artificial Intelligence but often find it challenging to implement in daily operations. In this one-day workshop, COMPUTD and SIBON provided practical, business-focused guidance to address this issue. Participants learned how to apply AI in a simple and effective manner, without requiring technical expertise. We concentrated on aligning AI with real business processes in sign companies, emphasizing clarity, usability, and direct relevance to daily work.

The Program

The workshop was divided into two complementary modules.
The morning session, Introduction to AI, provided a clear overview of modern AI. Key concepts and terminology were explained in a way that helped participants build confidence and understanding.

In the afternoon session, AI in Practice, the focus shifted to application. Participants learned what makes AI tools capable of executing tasks independently. They then worked in small teams on practical use cases connected to their own daily operations. Each group developed a simple solution or prototype aimed at saving time and reducing effort.

Practical AI Use Cases

During the workshop, each group selected a real situation from daily work. By working with their own examples, participants experienced how AI can support tasks, reduce manual effort and help teams stay organised. The use cases reflected common challenges within sign companies and showed how AI can improve operational efficiency.

Customer price request

AI turns an unclear request with photos and loose details into a clear internal task.

Internal task allocation

AI converts a customer briefing into a structured task list for DTP, production and installation.

Streamlining customer communication

AI summarises long emails and highlights the key questions and follow up actions.

Customer briefing for signage projects

AI brings together logos, dimensions and scattered messages into one clear instruction for both client and team.

Email structuring

AI reads incoming messages, identifies their category and creates a simple overview of tasks.

DTP checklist

AI checks design files for completeness and generates a checklist for fonts, resolution and crop marks.

Planning support

AI assists with estimating time and preparing a clear plan for project based assignments.

Work order for installation team

AI converts a complex client email into a clear and complete work order for the field crew.

Quotation preparation

AI structures quotation requests, points out missing details and prepares a checklist the client can complete.

Creating a Concrete Advantage

By the end of the day, participants had gained a clear understanding of how AI can accelerate, simplify and improve workflows. Topics ranged from customer communication to internal planning and quotation preparation.

Through teamwork on practical use cases, participants left with both a solid foundation in AI and a first prototype tailored to their own business context.
