On June 30th 2026, SIBON and COMPUTD organized two AI workshops for SIBON members in the sign industry.
These workshops focused on sign companies that want to understand how AI can be used in daily work without technical training: what AI can do, where it goes wrong and how tools such as ChatGPT and Claude can support real business tasks.
AI is already useful for common work inside sign companies. It can help with customer emails, quotation texts, product descriptions, project posts, internal notes and first drafts for communication.
The value depends on how the tool is used. A weak prompt gives weak output. A vague task gives vague text. A risky input can create privacy problems.
These workshops gave participants a clear and practical way to use AI with more control.
The day consisted of two sessions.
The first session gave participants a basic understanding of AI. It explains how language models work, how prompts affect output and why AI output should always be checked before use.
The second session focused on direct use in daily work. Participants worked with their own material, such as a quotation, recurring email, product text or social media post. They improved that material with AI and create prompts they can use again after the workshop.
The workshops focused on tasks that sign companies already deal with every week.
Examples included improving a quotation, rewriting a standard customer email, making a product text clearer, preparing a social media post about a recent project and turning repeated work into a reusable prompt.
The goal was output that can be used after the session, not theory that stays in a slide decks.
The workshops also covered the risks that come with AI use.
Participants learned what they should avoid entering into free AI tools, how to check output, where copyright can become an issue and why AI should not be treated as a source of truth by default.
The EU AI Act is included as part of basic AI awareness. Participants who complete a short knowledge check can receive proof of participation.
COMPUTD supported the workshops with practical AI knowledge and hands on guidance.
The focus was on making AI understandable for people who need useful output in their work, without turning the session into a technical course. Participants learned how to ask better questions, judge the answers and apply AI to tasks that matter inside their company.
