How COMPUTD Uses AI to Help Cut Waste and Costs – De Limburger

At COMPUTD, we’re tackling some of the most everyday challenges using advanced AI, from helping bakeries reduce overproduction to optimizing complex workforce schedules in call centers. In the Netherlands alone, around 700,000 loaves of bread are wasted daily. Our predictive models help bakeries forecast demand more accurately by factoring in weather, local events, and holiday seasons, reducing waste and improving operations.

We started in 2019 with a mission to make AI accessible and practical for real businesses. Today, our growing team of 19 AI specialists, developers, and data scientists works closely with clients to deliver end-to-end solutions: from identifying the problem to implementing smart, scalable systems. For call centers, our AI connects with major scheduling tools to create optimized rosters, factoring in everything from break times to labor regulations.

With growing interest both locally and from abroad, we remain focused on steady, sustainable growth. Whether it’s helping a bakery bake just enough bread or making sure customers spend less time on hold, we’re proving that AI isn’t just powerful, it’s practical.
